I don’t know why but I always enjoy a show when Drew gets out of his shell and yells at the crazy caller.
I don’t know why but I always enjoy a show where Adam starts scream singing Blood Sweat & Tears songs, especially Lucretia McEvil.
“Tail-shakin’ home-breakin’ truckin’ through town…..Back seat Delilah – Got your sixth big jug o’wine….
Ooh, Lucy MacEvil – Honey, where ya been all night? / Your hair’s all messed up babe / And the clothes you’re wearin’
Just don’t fit ya right…..Ooh, Lucy, you just so damn bad.” You really have to hear Adam to get the full appreciation – as with “He does it alllllllllllllllllll!!!” Gems, gems, gems – too bad they found the BS&T album too late in the show.
could it be the first blood sweat and tears show?? Is it weird that I’m obsessed with finding the first show for my favorite bits? The first football coach episode is my Moby Dick.
Mamma was the talk of the stix!!
I really agree about drew, coming out of his shell. I like when drew tries not to laugh at Adams jokes that are more culturally and/or not so tactful but can’t help himself
A very decent show. Do not pass it up, a lot of decent topics.
Yea drew told that girl her parent never loved her. Lol it’s true though! Some hardcore hornage at the end too… Plus I really enjoyed drew discussing his timeshare experience 😀
During the second call, Drew says he’s never heard of mail-order brides!! It REALLY makes you understand Adam’s frustration with Drew’s ignorance of anything outside the hospital.
Adam discusses his hatred for publicists. He says publicists are only as big an asshole or bitch as their client is a star. They’re all sweet as sugar when their client is doing a guest spot on Saved by the Bell and trying to get a sitcom greenlit on UPN, but the minute they get famous the publicist instantly becomes an asshole/bitch.
Adam says he will never have one, and I’m pretty sure he’s stayed true to his word to this day. He’s stuck with his agent James “Babydoll” Dixon and that’s about it.
Drew, meanwhile has one and has about a thousand TV shows. Can anyone stand his show on HLN? He just screams really loudly for some reason and never spends more than a minute on one topic. Every interview he conducts feels so rushed because they’re constantly shifting gears. It’s….awful.
Adam comes back from break and gives the time. This is before his radio DJ personality gag that he still does today. But this is the first time he talks about DJ’s giving the time, and then telling how long it is “till the top of the hour.”
“Hey it’s 7:45, that’s 15 to the top of the hour.”
He says he can cover that math himself. Funny to hear him shape this bit over time.
I believe Adam did have a publicist or publicists as he has occasionally referred to his “two gay publicists” on the ACS. I think one of them even provided Bald Bryan’s “He’s GAY” drop that he still uses on the show. GO DOWN GAMBLIN’!

Drew not realizing mail-order brides was a real thing was hilarious.

Quite possibly the seed of the infamous Lightening Round coda with the annoying DJ voice! >D
