Phillipe calls in with a Germany or Florida. The story is a couple who adopted 5 children and tortured them. They pulled their finger nails out with pliers and a whole bunch of sadistic shit.
Drew already knew about this story and it’s Florida. Adam asks if they took it on the lam. Drew says he read that they were on the lam in a motor home, with Florida plates, dragging a Lexus. Adam says “no that was just the name of one of their daughters. They were dragging Alexis behind the motor home.”

Adam and Drew take one of their tandem pee breaks near the end of the show. When they return, Adam brings up something that’s been bothering him about the good Doctor.
They were walking down the hall together, Drew ahead of Adam, and they were making time because they only have four minutes before the show comes back. Drew let out a sneeze and didn’t even move his hand anywhere near his mouth/nose to cover up. Adam says he was basically raised by backwards hillbillies and even he will cover his mouth. Drew is a doctor and has absolutely no reservations about blowing atomized snot all over someone walking behind him in a narrow hallway.
Drew tries to rationalize it by saying he’s not contagious right now, but mostly just sits there and takes his punishment of Adam ranting.
Bald Bryan at 7.30
A woman calls in wondering about the negative effects of combining oxycontin and marijuana. The guys get into why she’s on the oxy and she says she has back issues but nobody will operate on her until she loses more weight. She says she has about 70 more pounds to lose. They ask how heavy she is and she says she used to weigh 350lbs.
Drew: “By the way, wild weight fluctuations, very heavy, chronic back pains, all adds up to trauma for us.”
Adam (under his breath): “It’s trauma for her futon too.”
A friend of mine I’ve known since high school pitches for an MLB team. I don’t think I should name him here but I don’t give a damn about baseball or anything like that. I don’t know what their record is or anything like that. Brian wasn’t even friends with the guy so I’m not buying the excuse. Sorry, Brian. Can’t give you this one.
Here’s the deal with the politicians about the issue of kids having kids. It is the thing about it being taboo but it’s also that they don’t know/care. They don’t know or care because no one talks about it. No one talks about it because the popular stance is “if a girl/woman decides to have a child it’s none of your business.” Now they’ll address men not being responsible as they should but nothing for women. Why? Well, two reasons. One, our society has traditionally been so restrictive and I think you could legitimately say oppressive to women in a lot of ways that anything even approaching telling women what to do brings out a fear of being called misogynist and all that. Now there is a place for that and there are certainly women’s issues we could work on as a society but people are not fans of nuance. So we’re afraid of people who are well-intentioned but misguided coming down on us. We’re afraid to try to talk reasonably to them because of the lack of nuance and it gets lumped into the rest that is legitimately misogynistic and patriarchal. It’s not “mansplaining” when it’s a legitimate point and we’re talking to people who don’t know better. But that’s lost on a lot of people because it involves critical thought and that’s apparently very hard to grasp. The other part is we’ve got this mindset that people can do what they want and we as a society can’t tell them what is and is not good for them. It’s the Ronald Reagan conservative mindset that’s been hammered into our heads.
The bottom line here is we need to address this problem and the way to do that is education and available resources. But we’re afraid of misguided people who don’t want to look at grey areas where we legitimately should be telling young women what they should and shouldn’t be doing and we’re afraid of people who will scream and rant about taking away their freedom and liberty and those other buzzwords. We need to educate boys and young men better too but ultimately it’s on women to avoid pregnancy. Fair or not that’s the reality right now so that’s where most of the attention is needed.
Nothing stands out I. This show except the crazy party broad at the end was something else.
