Host: Adam, Dr. Drew
Listen to theShow
Show Summary:
Drew's greatest night.
Adam starts the show in a very good mood. This is because Junior Producer Lauren brought him a piece of pumpkin pie. While mentioning this, Adam gives her around 35-40 "Jr's" possibly a record amount.
After Adam talks about wearing long johns during pumpkin pie season, Drew announces he's in Manhattan for a Westwood None party the next day. Adam stayed in L.A. because he didn't want to take any more time off from work than he already had. Adam wants these events to be assigned number between 1-10 so he knows which ones to go to.
Drew did not ride on the same flight as Susan. He also went to see the Broadway musical Wicked even though it's been sold out for the month. They went to a Red Sox game and then ran into the guy who played the lead in a bar after the game. It turns out he had been on Loveline a bunch of times. Adam compares his night to Drew's and mentions he just beat off and took a nap.
Caller Delilah announces she has listened to the show since she was 10 years old. Also, her boyfriend's career move is to be in a band and she attends a "prestigious dyke school."
Adam describes his Mazda truck having vice grips to replace the window crank. This is the truck that had bar stools for seats.
Adam sings "It's getting hot in herre." This causes Anderson to play the Gossip Folks bumper for the first time in a while. Drew doesn't have the lyrics with him but remembers it fairly well. He says he stopped doing it because he was embarrassed about the Crank Yankers call he did.
They have to ask a caller the question "why?" about 126 times(according to them) before she answers their question.
Adam asks Anderson to shut Drew's mic off, but he doesn't.
Drew mentions he's watching a TV in the New York studio.
A caller named Todd called into the show nine years earlier. That must have been a very early Adam show. Back then, Adam told Todd if he was still on the air 10 years later to call into the show and tell him to kill himself. This was just Todd telling him he's got about a year left.
Drew calls the computer the "crack pipe of the sexual addict."
A 15 year old has a 9 year old little girl voice. Also she dated an 18 year old when she was 12. Drew is disgusted by this.
Adam has gas but Drew isn't there to experience it. Engineer Chris backs Adam up when he said it was a good one.
This is the show where Drew says "and a dime for scale" when Adam was talking about taking a picture with a newspaper to show the current date. Adam tells Drew this that is the funniest thing he has ever said. When Adam talks to engineer Chris about dime for scale during the break, he doesn't understand what it means.
Print shop Eric calls in with a Germany or Florida from 1998. Unfortunately he is hung up on before he's given a chance to do an Adam impersonation.
Drew tells of a left turn arrow in New York City. He later announces Susan has been there listening to the show and laughing at things Adam said.
Adam rants about men being trapped inside women's bodies.

Drew's dime for scale joke

Drew gets so mad that the caller leaves out that she is bi-polar. Hilarious!

That dime for scale thing was great.
Dr. Drew is funny.
GOOD EP.
Agreed! Dr. Drew’s “dime for scale” comment was a surprise and funny… Drew, in general, is having a great night.
Adam’s intro is amazing!
Great episode. At 1:30 Adam has a great mini-rant about a transexual being ‘woman trapped in man’s body.’. “it’s a nutjob trapped in a nutjobs body!”
Adam was pretty close, He gave himself another 3 weeks, but was gone a year later
Caller Todd calls in following up on Adam’s request from 9 years earlier that if he lived past 25 to call in.
Adam’s claim was that no person named Todd ever lived past the age of 25. Todd lived.
Also, Adam told Todd that if he called in and Adam was still doing Loveline he would kill himself. Well, technically Adam told Todd to call in 10 years, not 9, so Adam doesn’t have to kill himself unless he’s there for another year. He leaves the show in November of 2005 so technically he welched on the bet by not killing himself.
Print shop Eric calls in with a Germany or Florida and Drew recognizes him right off the bat. A lot of wasted potential on this call. Eric doesn’t even get to do his Adam impression.
The guys take a call from a woman with Crohn’s disease, extreme diarrhea, and endometriosis. So essentially her nether regions are a frigging battle zone.
Adam: “My policy with her would be ‘I just get oral from you until we get this whole mess cleaned up.’ Drew, as a man of extreme passion, that wouldn’t work for you, but me? I’m a giver. And a receiver. You know what I’m saying? My receptivity is really my greatest strength.”
The Germany or Florida that Print Shop Eric calls in with is about a kid who broke into a gorilla enclosure at a zoo on a fraternity hazing stunt and was mauled to death. Drew immediately thinks Florida because “there are a lot of gorilla and monkey things down there, a lot of Monkey Lands.” Now normally when the guys make proclamations that start with “well we all know Florida has…” I immediately take a defensive posture because I was born and raised here in the grand state of Florida, and they’re often wrong in their assumptions of the goings on here. I was about to strike that same defensive position until I realized I grew up five minutes from something called “The Chimp Farm.” This is a shitty little zoo that has a bunch of chimps who run around their cages screaming and throwing shit at each other. So…I have to stand down on that one.
Drew makes his funniest joke of his career with his “dime for scale” comment and the occasion is given exactly the amount of pomp and circumstance it deserves. First, Adam congratulates him on it. Then, coming back from break they spend another few minutes ragging on Chris for not understanding what dime for scale means. Then Adam makes a football analogy to describe just how clutch Drew’s joke was. Later Drew reveals that his wife is in the Manhattan studio where he’s broadcasting from, and Adam says that she decided to show up on Drew’s best night and they revisit the joke and just how significant the moment was.
I think they even made a website dedicated to this joke
This epic moment needs a time stamp for quick reference, The infamous “Dime for scale” comment comes just after Adam finishes his statement with caller Alex at 1:09:33.
DIME FOR SCALE.
Drew is way amped up this episode. It turns out Susan is in the studio with him in NYC so he might be trying extra hard.
The show ends with another cringey anti-trans rant by Adam.
