Show Summary:

From the TV show Entourage

Jeremy is running late due to his Kimmel appearance, Adam discusses his sister's "No shit Dick Tracy" comment and then proceeds to mock her for it.

Adam and Jeremy discuss his last visit from 2002 and their work together it the film Judgement Night, where Adam was a stand-in but looked nothing like the actor he was standing in for.

Jeremy goes off on Directv and how he can't get them to show up at his new house, which leads to Adam going off about cable/phone company appointment hours.

Jeremy blabs about entourage and how he loves his character.

At around 58:35, during their discussion about Adam's idea to tell a new boss that he has a special needs child as a sort of get-out-of-anything-free card, Jeremy Piven shouts, "And then when they say, 'You don't have a child with special needs,' you say, 'SEMANTICS, FUCKFACE,'" and it slips by uncensored, although they have a short discussion afterward about safe harbor and the engineer's role in censorship.

Adam: “I’ve seen Drew attack the mic with a coffee mug the way a black woman uses a slipper to attack the police as they’re arresting her baby.”

Jeremy Piven has a lot of fun in this episode and doesn’t seem like the standoffish Hollywood douche-master that he sounded like in his first appearance. He even lets a “fuckface” fly and nobody bleeps it, even though they’re on like a 17-second delay. Jeremy asks if that was bad that he said that and Adam said “yeah, you gotta leave” to which he replies “okay!” Adam says that’s the joke of this show, that the guests want to leave.

Adam: “It’s like a date with a fat chick. ‘Yeah we’re gonna have to cut this short.’ ‘Great lard ass!’ and you hear the car peeling out.” This cracks Jeremy up.

Interesting real-life/Entourage connection here. Jeremy is late because he was doing Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote Entourage, and they discuss how he may be even later because the green room of Kimmel is the hot spot in Hollywood at this point, with celebrities who aren’t even on the show hanging out backstage before and after the show and drinking and smoking weed. Interestingly enough, Entourage has an episode in the first season where Vince does Kimmel and they actually do show the green room with random celebs hanging out, and Jeremy (as Ari) is not allowed back there. He’s been banned for some Ari-like faux pas and has to linger around in the hall. Beyond that, Jeremy discusses with the Adam/Drew that he can’t get the Direct TV guy to come out to his house to hook him up, and they make various jokes throughout this episode about hooking him up with cable. In that Entourage episode where Vince does Kimmel, there is a subplot where Vince has to say the name of some local cable guy’s company while on Kimmel, and for that he’ll get hooked up with free cable and a home entertainment system. Funny coincidence.

Lots of good Entourage stuff in this episode. A caller asks him what his favorite role is that he’s ever played and he says “I swear I’m not just saying this, but Entourage.” Everyone laughs because it sounds like such a canned answer by someone out promoting a new show, but he says I’m not kidding there’s just something about this character. History has shown that he wasn’t kidding. Ari Gold is one of the great characters ever written, no matter your opinion on Entourage.

Jeremy: “It was fun, thanks for promoting the show so much tonight.”

Adam: “Just don’t forget about us when it’s a huge hit.”

Jeremy: “I won’t, are you kidding me?”

And he was never seen again.

Things have not played out well for any of these three of these guys but entertaining show. Interesting to hear discussion of HBO as a creative powerhouse… another 15 years or so until it peaked with GOT.
