Show Summary:

From the TV show I'm with Busey

Great show, the guys from Sugar Ray start out the show with a ton of energy and have a long history with Adam and Drew, lots of good calls a possible Miriam call too.

Adam has Anderson play Drew's Crank Yankers and Drew has to leave the room, I'm not sure if it's because of the guest or that one of the guests is black, Mark and DJ Homicide(Craig) seem to really enjoy the call and surprisingly DJ Homicide defends Drew's use of the n word, stating that he did in fact drop the R.

Craig is very impressed with Drew's hip hop speak in particular "areolapalooza action"

Anderson has a surprise for Drew, the song "Double Dutch Bus" the guys finally break down the song that is sampled in "GF" by Missy Eliott, there is an elaborate breakdown of the song and Drew demands lyrics, the only other guest that comes to mind who knows of Double Dutch Bus is Seth Green who also points out that's where the samples come from in of his appearances.

Marc and Craig inform Adam and Drew that its Pig Latin but Drew protests and claims that it must end in ay to be pig Latin, Adam then coins the phrase N** Latin and once again Craig is very cool.

DJ Homicide and Mark make tons of dumb jokes(unfunny, obvious) but they make up for it with their enthusiasm.

A brief discussion of the early work of Joe Jackson and Mark discusses the tattoo he is having removed from his neck and how he finally understands why tattoo parlors are always next to bars.

A caller introduce the gang to the terms "pearls, pearled, pearling" as a euphemism for pre ejaculate.

This show is very conversational and it flows very well.

Dr.Drew discusses how he lost the domain name DrDrew.com when the web company that owned it imploded.

A 17yr man named Aaron calls and tells Adam and Drew that they have been the most reliable friends he has ever had and that they have gotten him out of many difficult situations, smart kid.

He then references the last ICP appearance on Loveline apparently Violent J told a story of how he almost slept with Pamela Anderson but was C' blocked by Mark.

Mark then gives his side of the story, and talks a little S.

Mark really tries to downplay it, Adam then discusses how its probably better for guys like Violent J to think they have a chance with Pamela Anderson and somebody intervened then the truth that they actually have no chance.

The history of Loveline and Sugar Ray is discusses quite a bit.

Adam demands Anderson replay the DAG "Don't Look at me, Don't Look at me, I will Give You something to smile about.....ZZZZZZZZZ"

Mark mentions how funny he thinks Dag is and Craig is very impressed with Urban Dr. Drew.

@yayer listen to the Busey solo show from 2005. He rattles off these crazy elaborate acronyms throughout the show in response to calls. At first he sounds nuts…but then you realize there’s a little genius mixed in with his madness.

  2. GarnetGunner

Busey is a surprisingly good guest.

I think Adam de la Pena is some kind of “Busey Whisperer” who is able to turn down the static just enough so Gary comes through with many insightful comments.

  3. snowblindfriend

This is an exceptional show. I really thought Gary would wear thin very quickly, but it worked for most of the show.

GarnetGunner said it best when he said De La Peña is some sort of “Busey Whisperer.”

  4. wordnumber

I wanted to like Busey but he got irritating quickly. He sounds like one of those fast talking inspirational speakers with long involved prepared answers for everything.

  5. strangebrew

At the beginning of the pandemic Gary was kicked off an American airline plane by a friend of mine who is a flight attendant. Gary was drunk, rude and spitting in peoples face. Fuck this guy.

There are a couple funny moments, but the show is kind of a train wreck. Gary is a little too amped up, I think. He talks about the glowing orb and a caller mistakes him for Nick Nolte, which leads into a discussion of who is leading the crazy race between Gary, Nick, or Jan-Michael Vincent.
