Hal Sparks evidently had never smoked, doen drugs or had alcohol because of his native american ancestry. He is very preachy and could probably benefit from a little somethin somethin. I have never seen him act but find him grating based on his “I love the _______” stints on VH1.

Hal has to legitimize every conversation w/ his own voice, I think he misunderstood that he was there to be the 3rd host. I know Loveline likes their guests to be involved w/ the show but this guy is like the annoying person at the party that won’t stop butting into conversations. And he sounds like Dr. Bruce.

its cool, and smart, that he never did drugs or drinking. but his voice is pretty annoying. maybe its just the chicago accent. he was definately uncomfortable with adam saying he’s gonna get him drunk.

Hal was fine as a guest and I don’t think he went too far with his level of participation. The worst guests are the ones that barely speak up at all. I think it was sort of a missed opportunity though, usually comedians do better with Adam and they’re able to riff off each other but that just wasn’t happening at all in this episode. He was more of a counselor than a comedian.

Good if others liked this episode, but it was one of the worst I’ve heard. definitely the worst of 2003 so far. When Hal isn’t interrupting people, he’s disagreeing with Drew’s expert advice or getting defensive when Adam and Drew do their “whisper to each other and talk about the guest” bit.
The one interesting thing I noticed was, I think this is the first time high-def TV is mentioned.
