Ben Stein comes in unplanned. Talks about growing into being a father. Tells about the mechanics of “Win Ben Stein’s Money”. Adam was terrible on the game show and lost one question due to giving the wrong middle initial in an author’s name.
Adam asks a caller if she’d like Drew and Ben Stein to make out, two men of great… great passion, who bring passion to every endeavor. Adam mentions that Drew and Ben are “sleeper” passionate men.
Evidently Drew is a passionate… passionate man.
There’s a caller who has “rock hard erections and a taught nutsack” who says he is worried about his balls flopping around during sex. This leads to another Dartos Tunic discussion, and then Adam’s assessment that most callers are working on a four-day week (and “only smoke pot three or four days a week”).
Lots of political discussion which is a little hilarious in retrospect, especially nutcase Ben Stein’s assessment that Bush’s Iraqi invasion will “only last a few days”, no problem. Lots of post 9/11 “America, f*k yeah!” going on.
Funny conversation about Drew’s kids, Ben asks whether he’d rather, when young, have them smoking pot or having sex.
Discussion about why kids don’t think oral/anal activities are “sex”.
Iraq war discussion starts at 00:25:51, yeah some horribly bad takes there. Apart from that discussion, I found Ben a pretty good guest.
It’s funny to hear (10 years later) how naive, yet certain Stein is about the war. What an ass.
I love the Kimmel Santa note at the end
Ben is a good guest. Drew had commented on previous shows that he disapproves of Ben’s views on corporal punishment and if my memory serves me, I seem to remember him saying he wanted to debate Ben publicly. I was disappointed Drew pussed out on this opportunity to make with some interesting, if not provocative radio. I know the guys tread lightly around some of the more sensitive guests but Ben came off as a pretty good sport and I wouldn’t have figured him to be one of those types.
The first half before he leaves is pretty good, I really dig his sense of humor. The second half is basically son of tard night
The poor football kid in the second half. Ironically, CTE was first discovered in 2002.
