near the end of the show 14yo jason calls in about making a rabbit trap and almost cutting off his finger. he makes rabbit traps to catch, kill, and eat rabbits and squirrels. hes from georgia and moved to irvine
adam: “he’s like a young ted nugent”
At about 01:09:00, Adam states (paraphrase): “I was a carpenter, like Jesus, except I didn’t gouge the elderly”. This line was later used in his book (and on the back of the jacket for it), “Not Taco Bell Material”.
I sent this same note into the new Adam and Ray Home Repair podcast, but I added this comment:
I always thought that Jesus’ father, Joseph, was the carpenter. I don’t think that Jesus was, but that is just my recollection after seven years of seminary.
A lover’s quarrel between Adam and Dr. Drew on this one.
Adam gets pissed when he guesses a caller’s background and Dr. Drew sort of takes credit for thinking the same thing. Adam refers to Drew’s psychic “thought bubble” the rest of the night. The tension gets a little thick.
As far as I know, this episode has the first time Anderson used the “Are you Mormon?” drop to trick a caller. Ironically it’s during the call where the “I’m a Jew” drop was born
At about 43 minutes a caller says he prank-called Adam at his office a couple years ago. He said he was calling on behalf of Danny Ashe and she wanted to do lunch at Yamashiro. Adam said he kind of remembers the conversation and simply didn’t go and doesn’t care.
Some good Jedi Drew and Jedi Adam moments where they are able to accurately depict caller’s past or even current situations.
Adam gives Drew a hard time for Drew taking credit for Adam’s prediction by “reading Drew’s thought bubble”. I thought Adam was way out line on this one and Drew was just making an innocent joke. For all the times Adam says Drew has no sense of humor, Adam came off as a bitter stiff on this one.

Jamie sounds like he’s half dead this episode, I prefer drunk Jamie Kennedy as a guest
