Pretty good episode. Some funny calls and great drops from Anderson. Boxcar Racer are genuinely interesting too. I find it funny that Boxcar Racer do not cuss at all for about the first half, then once they learn you can say certain things they take it a bit too far a few times.

Sadly it just seems to cut off at the end there. Would’ve been interesting to here the last few min of the show.

Caller “Ted” asks for advice on what to name his band at 56:12. The choices are “Twelve Gauge Valentine” and “Independent Youth”. Tom says Twelve Gauge Valentine is the better choice. In 2003 a band with that name formed in Louisiana and ended up releasing an album in 2006 (according to wikipedia). It’s not clear to me if it’s the same band, since none of the band members were named “Ted” and the caller’s location isn’t given.

Travis Barker comes in late because he was at a show watching a band called The Kinison.

The Kinson is the first band to be signed to Travis’s new (at the time) record label called LaSalle. They try to plug Travis’s record label several times during the show.

LaSalle is now defunct, closing in 2018.

Another caller mentions that Travis’s is new girl is much hotter than his old girl. He had just divorced then wife Melissa Kennedy For model Shanna Moakler. They got divorced in 2008 and Travis eventually married Kourtney Kardashain in 2022. They are still married as of now but will probably be divorced by the time someone reads this lol.

Tom drops some kind of reference to UFOs and also some sort of conspiracy theory that WWII was actually the end of the world or something like that. He also found it a spooky coincidence that the plane that dropped the 2nd atom bomb was called “The Boxcar”. The plane that dropped the bomb on Nagasaki was the B-29 bomber “Bockscar”. So it’s actually spelled differently.

Tom supposedly went crazy and has been chasing UFO conspiracies but I’m too lazy too look into that.

I normally skip Stryker episodes but wanted to listen because I liked the band.

Not a bad episode and Stryker doesn’t say too much
