Guest doesn’t have much of a sense of humor. At the 27:30 mark, there is an intense call from a woman named Amanda. She is calling because her husband doesn’t want their children to spend time with her father. As a child, he molested her and all of her brothers and sisters while being named citizen of the year. Amanda stills seems to be under his spell as she says her husband only sees a molester in her father and starts to cry when Adam suggests that he should be blown up with a grenade. They spend almost 10 minutes on this call.
Adam doesn’t know what “fanny” means.
Adam must have just spaced out on what fanny meant.
He definitely discussed British slang with another band just a few weeks earlier. They definitely discussed the unique change in meaning of fanny in that other show
At 1:05:18 here’s a call from a guy who doesn’t know how to feel about his girlfriend frequently seeing her ex because they have a puppy together. Adam, Drew and the guest spend so much time on the call that Anderson asks if any of them had gone through that. I think they were just so relieved, after that incest call, to be talking about a safe, almost cute situation involving three normal people. As a listener it’s a relief as well.
Funny sign of the times around 0:45 – After struggling for a while to find out a caller’s job, she reveals she is a barista, and no one knows what she means (Paul thinks she said ‘Barrister’).
Not a super memorable guest but at least he’s nice and likable. There’s some interesting calls throughout and there’s a light hearted tone.
The barista thing was funny.. they blame her yet they’re the ones who don’t know what it is. Despite Paul being low key, perfectly cromulent episode. A few interesting calls. Drops are still few and far between.
Paul’s a nice enough guy and an alright guest but it sounds like he dropped a couple quaaludes before the show. Maybe its just jet lag
