A couple callers talk about their experiences with the shooting at Santana High School near San Diego.
…and Drew has gas.
Caller around 51:00-54:00 who looks at porn at school leads to the most encouraging advice I’ve ever heard from Adam — a perspective that everyone can learn from.
“To me, sliced bread: not such a breakthrough.” ~Adam Carolla
Adam: “Drew, how about the inherent therapy of containing yourself and disciplining yourself? You know what I’m saying? If you are on a diet and you think to yourself ‘man, I really want a hot fudge sundae right now’ and you start walking to the refrigerator, but you stop, go in the other room and skip rope for ten minutes, and then you eat a salad and go to bed, you just got stronger. Right there. That’s worth a trip to the therapist’s office. You basically started in one direction, stopped, and disciplined yourself. And man, if you can reign yourself in, can contain yourself, can discipline yourself, and can redirect those impulses, you’re gonna have the world by the tail. And if you can train yourself like that early on, you’re gonna get far in life. And the more you can do that, the more victories you will have.”
Drew: “um-hm.”
Adam: “You got any sleeping pills, Drew? I wanna wash ’em down with some booze when I get home.”
This show has some lengthy heavy calls I found hard to listen to.
Is it just me or is there a disproportionate amount of opening callers who are bogus? Is there an intentional strategy behind this?
