Guest: Sean Patrick Thomas
Host: Adam, Dr. Drew
Listen to theShow
Show Summary:
From the movie Save the Last Dance
Sean discusses his past and upcoming film roles, they spend a few minutes discussing what a huge success "Save The Last Dance" was over the MLK weekend and how it became the highest grossing movie in history to be released over that weekend.
I purposely have not listened to this episode in a very long time, something about Sean "bumped" me, I can't remember why I disliked his appearance so much.
The show starts with Adam describing Julia Stiles as attractive but in an attainable kind of way and then states that she looks like an Irish boxer.
Sean takes offense and attempts to defend her, Adam then attempts to clarify by saying she kind of looks like Teddy Atlas but of course nobody gets the reference.
The 1st call is a disturbed young woman named Edna who is acting out, she has an attitude and Adam immediately gets angry, she belittles EMDR therapy, oddly Drew does not attempt to defend it, Drew explains why she shoots down any and all ideas suggested by them.
Drew "..well it's help me if you can"
The second caller is one of my all time favorite LL calls a young woman named Marie calls who is a double leg amputee, she tells the story of her older brother tying rubber bands around her legs while she was sleeping at the age of 3.
Dr. Drew immediately pokes holes in her story, not claiming that it's bogus but that maybe something far more hideous took place and the family lied in order to protect her from the truth.
Adam "..hold on were going to take a break, I gotta go kill myself...these last two calls are bringing me down"
Adam "...hold on I gotta go kill myself again"
Marie wants to know how to engage in intercourse with her double amputee boyfriend who lost his legs in the '89 L.A. earthquake, a bridge fell on him while he was a passenger in a car at the age of 4 or 5.
Adam "..I think I could operate better without legs and I think my victims, or girlfriends...."
Adam reveals that his sister once stabbed him with a crocheting needle.
Adam and Drew debate whether or not Marie's call was indeed bogus.
Adam "those were very bizarre calls we started with Drew"
Jerry inspires Adam to use the term Cakehole.
Sean admits to being freaked out by Jerry's call regarding his "Pie-hole" injury caused by the "shaft end" of a toilet plunger, Sean then admits he had no Idea what he was getting into by appearing on Loveline.
Adam attempts to take a lighter call but the next one on the screen is Kevin who's dad is touching him at night.
Adam tells a DAG story, after sparring with DAG at his "party house" he asked him if he wanted to come play in the regular basketball game they had at the "party house" and DAG thought Adam was only asking him because he was black.
They come back from the break and discuss Save the Last Dance and the time required to learn all the dancing.
Sean tells a story of being pulled over with Julia Stiles while preparing for the movie.
Adam goes off on FootLoose, hilarious!!!
Adam goes off on a brief but hilarious jag regarding men thrusting during sex, he refers to it as "stabbing".
Sean and Adam debate over whether or not Save the last Dance was/is #1 this week vs. last week, Sean gets weird!!!
This show has some great callers.
Adam "..where did you get herpes?..My mom when I was coming out!"
Adam attempts to graph his orgasms solo vs. with a women.
Sean panics and leaves after the 1st hr, they don't say anything as he is leaving but clearly he found out how long the show was and told them off-air he wasn't going to be able to finish the show, Drew hints at it.
Sean is not of high enough caliber to book only 1hr, that's an Alec Baldwin move, and if he were to try and leave early they would address it on-air and pull their famous "oh, come back for one more break, you got to say goodbye, c'mon one more break"
So clearly he either made up some BS about getting up early or he told them he was uncomfortable.

The guest is…OK…but there are some really good calls here, and Adam is great as always.
Adam softballed Sean when he told the story about getting pulled over by the cops with Julia in the car. He doesn’t say a word when Sean says Julia got to experience what it was like to be a black man. As if getting pulled over had nothing to do with the fact it was the middle of the night near a bunch of bars in downtown LA…
It’s just as well that he left early. He didn’t contribute anything interesting to the show anyway.
Caller Marie’s story of losing her legs freaked me out.
the legs amputated story is the most disturbing Loveline call
Average
Sean bugged me too. I think it has to do with the fact that he acted offended by the content of the show. Kind of reminded me of Billy Dee Williams. He takes himself just a little too seriously, like he lives in a world where things like this either don’t happen or aren’t OK to talk about. Maybe I read it wrong, but that’s what it seemed like.
