From “Blair Witch 2.” Average quality show.
I always found Adam’s “Wiccans are fat” thing weird because of the 7 or 8 or so Wiccans I’ve known or just met over the years, one was fat and the others were beautiful. I’m with him on the part that Wiccans tend to be nutty, but in my experience, they’re quite sexy as well.
Adam hasn’t figured out his “fastest growing outlaw radio show…” line to the Metallica intro yet and you can sense it’s coming soon. After another failed attempt at around 42:00, Drew gives it a shot for the first time (that I can recall).
Adam: Very rocky
The dude guest gets a joke or two in. The lady guest admits the wiccans she met were “quite voluptuous.” “I don’t think they liked me.” “Yeah cuz you were bogarding that 6 foot sub”
Overall a good show. Lots of wicca talk. Rustynail already pointed out the genesis of the “fastest growing outlaw radio in North America” which for purists will be interesting to hear. Adam and Drew both give it a shot and they aren’t close yet.
At one point, Drew opens the anatomy book and they discuss images in the book as they relate to a call. At a certain point, this becomes “horrible radio” according to Adam. It’s funny to hear him participate in something he later rips Drew for doing.
A fine episode, guests were harmless but didn’t add anything. Overall an episode that’s nothing to write home about. Feel free to skip over this one but don’t avoid it at all costs either.
MINKA DROP 44:20
At 2:12 the first caller asks Adam if he’s heard of IVTV, which is such a random fringe show to ask about that even though I attended UCSB—and actually used to really enjoy this show when it came on the public access channel—I thought that she must be referring to some other show that coincidentally had the same name. The guys predictably make fun of her for asking. The question and ensuing dialogue did inspire some nice nostalgia for me, though. I love when Isla Vista comes up.
