As a quick note, this is the show of the day of the Columbine High School massacre. Adam and Dr. Drew briefly address it at the beginning of the show.
I think this should get a lot more listens. When I first made a profile on this site I remember going through to check if there were episodes for colombine, 9/11, etc. just for reference and primary source. It’s really interesting to know what they thought at the time vs what we know really happened. They had some good facts despite it being the day of. It’s weird to think like if you listen to the episode before this with dag that there’d be a tragedy the next day. Like they could’ve stopped it lol it’s a really weird thought. The guest was cool and I’d definitely listen to this
All they do is talk about the Columbine shooting. Skip it.
This episode is a very interesting snapshot of the US at the time of the Columbine tragedy.
I agree that this is a very interesting episode
Heavy episode, but interesting to note the callers actually provided reasonably accurate info. Compare to the 9/11 episode (probably the heaviest ever) where tons of bad information is provided. It’s also interesting to note how Drew jumps to speed as the cause. As I write this it’s 2024 and we’ve kinda learned that’s rarely the case. It’s mostly depression and mental illness driving school shootings. A recommended listen – it’s not funny, but it preserves an interesting immediate response to a tragedy.
