The lead singer from Smashmouth is on the air promoting their new CD – Adam plays their seminal hit “All Star” and the single “then the morning comes,” claiming that both are world premiers for the songs.
With regards to the episode itself:
The show is largely generic. At one point an older gent calls in proudly proclaiming that he is into 14 year old girls, but Adam and Drew don’t believe him.
Adam carries over his rant from last night about why prisoners shouldn’t be allowed to get married (this time he references how Ted Bundy got hitched while in prison and had a kid before he was executed).
Coming in from break at 0:30:52 engineer Mike plays some out of context Drew Drops (a few episodes prior to this the infamous “Hey I’m doing drugs, I’m a stripper, I’ve had five billion relationships and I don’t know whether I’m gay or straight” drop was just recorded and Adam is still proud of it).
Right before the end of the show Adam goes on another jag about people who abuse whatever miniscule amount of authority their job provides them with. He gives an example of a park ranger who tossed a group of TV people he was filming a bit with out of a public lake (he contrasts this with a story about how when he was a traffic school instructor he basically didn’t exercise any authority over his students at all)
Wow, I forgot how sacarin Smash Mouth songs are. Ugh, the late nineties sucked.
Funny story about the park ranger at the end. Funny in that it made Adam look like an idiot.
First, Adam talks about his group being the only one on the lake, then a little later, he goes on to say that the park ranger should have been addressing other more serious infractions. So, they get kicked out and now he goes on about it.
It sucks that they couldn’t have helped Nicole more at around the 1:02:30 mark and finished that call asking if she understood what she should do. Instead, they finish off with this BS.
