Google tells me that Melinda Messenger was apparently was a “Page 3” girl in GB – Adam references them from time to time because the Sun over there features rando naked ladies. Hhahahahaaaaaaaaa – not the first time this has happened but Adam mercilessly hits on Melinda and she gets steadily creeped out by him. At one point in time – he asks her to move her hair so he can look at her cans and she gets flustered and inquires whether asking guests to strip is a typical thing on LL. In some cases – I guess it is!
Adam’s self-confidence is often admirable, considering his upbringing, but sometimes I find he takes it too far and becomes just plain mean (and misogynistic) when he doesn’t get his way, as was the case with Melinda. But she’s a great guest and contributes a lot, and keeps the show upbeat despite Adam’s failed “advances”.
I agree. I love it when Adam hits on foxy guests but on this particular occasion he got genuinely creepy and it stopped being funny.
There was nothing wrong with the flirting taking place this episode you pussies.
haha it started off as funny, but the hitting on got a little creepy when he asked her to move her hair. She handled it great though…
I think he was going for a Howard Stern type thing but didn’t quite pull it off.
If a guy was speaking that way to me in person or alone somewhere it would be really frightening. The pressure, the pushing, the insistence- it would make me want to escape. It would also make me feel like the guy trying to get me to expose myself to him thinks I am an idiot, just a silly little toy meant to entertain and please him. These are not the comments/actions of someone who has much respect for the person he’s talking to. I’m glad a few other people acknowledged the creep factor and Adam’s real frustration- even though we all love him, it’s perfectly alright to disagree with some of the things he does and says. People who think their celebrity idols can do no wrong and worship everything about them aren’t thinking for themselves. It’s hard for me to have been a huge fan of Adam for as long as I have sometimes- I feel very conflicted when considering some of the things he says. There’s a fine line oftentimes between his brand of comedy and his real thoughts, I think, so it’s difficult for me to know how to take statements about how women are never truly intelligent (like raccoons) and how they are never geniuses. You guys are right, Melinda was very professional and composed in her attempts to shake off the persistent onslaught of objectifying comments to which she’s subjected. Good times, though. Good times.
Adam was a bit creepy in this one as others have stated. When people get standoffish the 5th or 6th time that’s your cue to cut it out.
I get a kick out of it when Adam gets beside himself with a hot guest. Good show.
look, he was over the top, but a) Theyre doin a radio show, people and b) I wouldn’t treat somebody like that, but I do get a little perturbed that some of the lengthier comments here (as well as in general when someone raises these type of objections) don’t seem to show a healthy understanding that everything this girl has, she has because she’s a hot chick. The very thing that makes Adam ogle her cans and pester her is also the thing that allows her not to have a real job. I’m not judging her or Adam…but let’s please not kid ourselves.
Oh man I love Melinda’s voice.
okay show as far as the calls go
There’s been an uproar in the comments section lol.. Sure Adam’s weird.. But I mean look and listen to her! WOW.. lol I liked this episode and I need to find me a woman like her
Haha Stephanie got the smackdown after starting her call like a bitch. The irony is she date’s and has kids by men much more maladjusted and abusive than Adam.
Also Adam’s acting like a creep this episode and it’s difficult to tell if it’s an affectation or not.
Adam was creepy in this one. He’s always flirty especially with the guests that are “up his alley” and usually it’s self deprecating and funny. This was not. This had an underlying tone of aggressiveness that would have really freaked me out if I had been in the studio with him. Just because this woman posed with her top off once doesn’t mean you can just say and do whatever you want to her especially after she goes along good naturedly for a while but then let’s you know there is a line and she is getting uncomfortable. I wonder what the hell was going on with Adam this night. He usually dances hilariously along the line but this night he clumsily lurched way over it and then peed on it. Weird.

Not Adams best performance
1:12:00 Adam predicts his future of a midlife crisis and divorce in 20 years.
Adam does a great job (of making the guest audibly uncomfortable) while Drew uselessly sits, by letting the harassment continue. Melinda’s replies were graceful, given how much she was being disrespected, but I’d be very surprised if she ever did another LL appearance. Usually the hosts are much better attuned to their guests’ boundaries, but this was a disgusting exception. Hard to listen to the second half because at times my skin was crawling.
I agree with Adam being creepy, but Drew does try to rein in Adam, telling him directly “Just leave her alone.”
I wasn’t surprised to venture into the comment section and find pretty much everyone had the same reaction to adam’s advances
he missed the mark in this episode and I just stopped listening because of the cringe factor
