i just sort of listen to old LL shows randomly.
heard this one. who the hell is Plastilina Mosh? I had no idea.
I’m pretty much out of touch with current pop music (1996-present day).
With LL, ya know, guests are usually part of Adam’s tapestry of observations.
the artists songs were not included in the MP3 i heard, but the guys seemed cool and very nice.
there was little to no talk of the content of the music.
they are from the deep side of Mexico.
on whim I looked up the band, and damn SURPRISE this is the most talented group of outsider freaks i’ve heard since…
george clinton toured with elvis and frank zappa’s evil twin.
i can’t get enough of them. i bought all their CD’s immediately.
they are definately merry pranksters. from another era. from da future. from zem 60’s.
Monterey ice capades. ice cubes, on ice. dirt dreams and elastic doorknobs.
good episode. Adam talks about Mexico a bit, for some reason.
he asks the band what part of the US they like. “Texas!”
i’m glad you like it, asdf29, cuz it is miserable noise to me..
Guests are pretty cool! Good overall episode.
I think this episode was better once the guests got in, they were chill and respectful even though they couldn’t answer a fairly simple question about their own music..
One of the guests in the band makes a pretty funny joke about Adam though, Drew got quite a laugh out of it.
Well I am a Mexican guy from Texas although I don’t look like it… And there is a lot of mexicans there.. Anyway the Mexican beastie boys are a good way to describe this band… Lots of greatness!
Good story about one of Adam’s ex-girlfriends near 50:00 or so.
Adam busts a bogus caller. The guests take a lot of good natured ribbing about Mexico.
Plastilina Mosh guys are super humble and Monster Truck is a cool song! Adam tells about one ex-girlfriend who used to start fights every time he took her out.
Classic Loveline episode #735 (feat. Pastilina Mosh): http://archive.org/download/GIOPOD/GLL735.mp3
I like how after Adam tells the story about his ex, the band asks why he would date a woman like that and if he had a messed childhood(or something like that). Pretty funny.
Solid episode! The guests are a bit soft spoken at first but they start to open up and let loose by the end, even ribbing Adam for his choice in girlfriend. The description “Mexican Beastie Boys” does not really do them justice, these guys are in a league of their own!
Maybe a small reference to the movie Small Soldiers that came out on the 10th. ~46m
