Around minute 44, Ali wants to go see herself on “Vibe” and Adam kicks her out. Ironic because Adam loves to watch himself on tv. Great quote – Adam just said to some guy with an asian fetish “You know what they say – once you go asian…….you don’t go back to caucasian!”
Show gets decidedly better when Ali leaves.
Ali Landry is one of the least accredited and least interesting guests in the history of loveline. She came across as very entitled. At one point Ali says to Adam, “I’d be offended if you farted.” Bitch!
must just be me but i don’t have any probs with ali. hot and a great radio voice = winning combo 🙂
I also don’t get the Ali animosity. There were dozens of hot-chick guests who were standoffish and had nothing to contribute, but Ali Landry wasn’t one of them. (She’s a girl, they don’t like fart humor. Big deal.) I like her 2002 appearance, when she gave Adam some props for the hilarious “Windtalkers” routine he had done the night before.
Yes, comments are correct: Ali Landry wasn’t a good guest at all. You can tell Adam’s doesn’t give a shit when she’s leaving. He actually shows more excitement than he ever has for a caller immediately after just to spite her.
Never heard of this person before this and that should say enough. Plus if you’re on a show at 11:30 pm on a weekday chances are your audience consists of unemployed housewives who are attending online junior college classes to feed a heroin… Alright that was my Adam impression but no one cares about tv in that timeslot… Hehe
pitiful show of a tantrum by the aceman. as with all girls he’s attracted to, adam insists that they stay longer than they intend. ali doesn’t bite and leaves. adam has a hissy and of course, isn’t very gracious. it’s too bad. normally i don’t mind his rants, but he was a let-down this time round. sad that this is actually the highlight of the show. 😐
Who are the girls in the studio at the end of the show? 1:30
Adam gets a little creepy anytime there is a chick he is into on the show….
Ali was fine imo as well. Average guest, average show. Memorable mainly for being after the Super Bowl than anything.
Yeah, adam comes off as pretty desperate and insecure when Ali leaves. Still a great show both with and without the guest, imo.
a few notable bizarre twists happen on this show:
– as the Monica Lewinsky scandal is breaking in the news, Dr. Drew tries several times to use this as contributing/influencing the problems and attitudes people have about sex, even going as far as to ask the callers what they thought. Adam dismisses this quickly.
– Ali Landry had told the show she would leave at a certain time, Adam brings this up on air and uncomfortably questions her about it, trying to get her to stay. She ends up leaving, and Adam doesnt react well and actually walks out of the studio for awhile while Drew is on a call. Later, Adam tells Anne not to book Ali Landry again. Ali would come back and do 3 more Loveline shows, in 1999, 2000 and 2002.
– the end of the show is unexplained, Adam is talking to a few unidentified women and recalls how Drew just peeled out of the parking lot. They had been talking about how he had to fly to do Jenny Jones tomorrow, but its still out of the ordinary for Drew to leave before the show is over.
the content in between these events is pretty typical, nothing too hilarious or awful. Middle of the road.
