Host: Adam, Dr. Drew

Show Summary:
Great old show, I didn't think we'd ever recover this one. You know it's old when Adam fires up the reverb to yell at caller Adrian from the future.
We learn the "bosom"¦" drop is from Adam West.
"Song 2" is played followed by that great singing man bumper.
Adam says Matthew Sweet will be on the show Thursday. Drew brought an article in that called Adam a "Long time Los Angels disc jockey." He started working in radio a year or two before this and he's really a voice jockey.
Adam considers kicking Alex out of the studio when says that he prefers women with small breasts.
37 year-old says Blur is good even though he doesn't know much about "him." He tells an odd story about seeing two dead bodies being recovered from a river when he was 13 or 14 years old. His family was very chaotic and violent but he was able to stop his father from beating his mother. Now whenever something like that happens he gets in the same mindset and tries to intervene. He calls it "rooster chest." It is then revealed that he is a carpenter.
There is a reference to the horrible 1996 Dunblane massacre that happened in a primary school in Ireland. This turns into Adam telling Drew his marijuana facts are propaganda. Drew then argues it is just what he observes on a daily basis at work. Adam predicts when Drew is on his deathbed he will wish he had done crack at some point during his life.
27 year-old caller Robert had a golf ball-sized tumor taken out of his head. His brain got all messed up and he had to re-learn reading and writing. The guy has a wife and kids. Drew recommends a book called "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat." Damien says he's read it. When Adam asks how he knows about it, Damien answers, "I'm not an illiterate idiot."
A nice Third Eye Blind bumper is played followed by the KRXQ 10 second time-out station ID with the "frozen broccoli taped to our nipples bit."
It is revealed that Dave and Alex are the sober half of the band. The other guys are out smoking a cigarette and having a beer.
They get back to caller Robert, the one with the tumor, and speak to his wife. They have 3 young children. She doesn't seem to know much about Robert's condition, might have just been nervous though.
21 year-old Josh is former speed user works in construction, specifically with Drywall. Adam asks him a quick drywall trivia question and he completely fails it.
The next caller is a follow-up who is in a 12-step program but met a girl at a meeting. Turns out she had some very bizarre issues, too much to write about.
Engineer Mike has some sort of bizarre audio SNAFU for a few seconds before playing the song "Look Inside America."
A Squirrel Nut Zippers bumper is played and Adam remembers having to have Engineer Mike shut one of their mics off because he was so chatty.
Drew's house got flooded last night because one of the kids stuffed something in the toilet. Susan called Adam for advice but it was so bad they ended up having to bring in a crew to remove all the carpeting. This gets Adam to tell a story about watching a friend's dog that dropped a ball it liked to play with in the toilet and it clogged everything up. Adam had to run a snake down the toilet, unbolts the entire thing and sticks a hose up to a vent pipe on the roof before getting the rubber ball out.
A caller makes a reference to "The Wall," and Adam has to explain to Drew that it's a Pink Floyd film. The caller says he was so high on acid that he forgot to breath and almost died. Sadly the recording ends during this call.
The bizarre issues include the woman wanting him to defecate on her in his living room. Drew is repulsed/thinks it is bogus and hangs up on him.
I love the toilet clog story – he tells this much better in another episode. The dog is named like Sprinkles or Cocoa or something and his friend is some crazy juggler that was semi-successful. The ball that clogged it was a heavy duty juggling ball – this story usually really sets Adam off but he seems assuaged by the lack of time in the show or from the crazy spooky calls that night. Good episode!
Damien basically calls Adam an “illiterate idiot,” this may be Adam’s source of hatred for Blur.
Drew recommends a book called “The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat.” Damien says he’s read it. When Adam asks how he knows about it, Damien answers, “I’m not an illiterate idiot.”
That book was apparently a big hit in the UK. The band Travis put out an album called “The Man Who.”
That said, Damon’s still a dick for answering a question like that.
i didn’t find anything wrong or dickish about the way damien answered that question. maybe it’s just me.
I’m a fan of the band but Damon Albarn is a well-known a-hole (Adam’s not off-base here):

Terribly awkward show, terribly serious brain cancer caller, weird vibes.
Weird brain cancer call. Blur isn’t my favorite guest either.
That one dude from Blur talks like he thinks he’s already arrived, I mean Blur was kinda big for a second but he comes off as if his band Blur is the 2nd Beatles invasion. And he scoffs at Pink Floyd’s The Wall when a caller brings it up….as if it’s not cool anymore cuz Americans like it…..just a d-bag all around.
