Guest: Clive Barker
Host: Adam, Dr. Drew
Listen to theShow
Show Summary:
Clive is promoting his new book "Sacrament."
Adam and Drew discuss Clive's looks being disparate from what you would expect based on his works, as well as his homosexuality, the difference in attitudes between now and when Clive was a teenager, and the malleability of sexuality.
Caller Mike (14) calls in to praise Clive. Clive talks about an A&E special where his parents basically denied having anything to do with the way he turned out. Clive also talks about how prevalent his grandmother was in raising him. Drew brings up "The Candyman Story" that Clive told last time he was on the show, and Clive briefly recounts it for Adam.
Steve (18) has been married for a month, and can't keep up with his wife sexually.
When Drew is late coming back from break, Adam accuses him of being lackadaisical. Adam wants to know how attractive Clive finds him and Drew, and is unsatisfied when Drew gets a "cute" and he gets an "Ehh." There is more conversation Clive's various works.
Kaycee (16) is concerned because her friend is using birth control as an excuse to be promiscuous (27 guys in 3 months). This is the first time Drew or Adam has ever heard of this, despite it being used repeatedly as an argument against providing birth control to young people. As it turns out, her friend is really just nutty because of her mother and step-father's neglect.
Amber (20) slept with a coworker and wants a releationship but isn't sure how to go about it. Unfortunately, this was 9 months ago, so Adam tells her the ship has sailed.
Frank (15) broke up with his girlfriend because she was too emotional and he couldn't handle it. She went to therapy, and later Frank got a call from a man who he assumes to be the new boyfriend who threatened him if he ever contacts her again.
Dario (25) wants to know how Clive feels about how the film studios have treated him and his work, especially "Nightbreed."
Kris (19) doesn't like to masturbate, but her boyfriend wants to watch her.
Jack (16) has racist friends that make fun of him for dating a black girl. His parents are also racist, and he's not sure what to do.
Paven (15) wants to know if Drew remembers going on a triple date with a girl named Jaqueline or Jackie in high school or college. Drew does not, but he wants to talk to Paven off the air so he can figure it out. Adam wants to know if Drew put out. After the break, Drew reveals that he got nowhere with Paven off the air.
Adam and Clive discuss gay book signings and the tour for the new book.
Morgan (20) asks Clive if he gives quotes on books he reads in a manner similar to the quote Stephen King gave Clive that got Clive his start. Adam berates Ann Rice for her "revamped Dracula business" after Clive puts her with Stephen King as the top in the genre.
Adam (17) is about to start college but has never been on a date and wants some advice.
Jeff (27) calls to ask Clive out on a date. Clive is flattered, but spoken for.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Clive Barker. He, Will Arnett and DAG are probably my favorite guests. Clive is so quick witted and charming and always a delight to listen to. He has a great mixture of amusement and disgust of Adam – they play off each other so well. Won’t add anymore since the summary does a great job but I am so happy that this was one of the few ’96 episodes that was saved.
A “W” on each buttocks so when you bend over, it says “WoW”
Gotta love Clive
