Peter Hook is an English musician and songwriter, best known as the bassist and co-founder of the influential post-punk bands Joy Division and New Order. Hook's distinctive, melodic bass lines were a key part of Joy Division's dark, atmospheric sound, and later helped define New Order's blend of rock and electronic dance music.
