It’s awesome to hear Quentin Tarantino on the show. Great fan of his work.

I find it odd that Quentin was not billed in the mp3/show title. Heck, since Duran is actually one of Carollas least favorite bands, and Tarantino is possibly his favorite director, that is like a slap in Adam’s face, *literally*.
That aside, Duran were pretty good guests, and having no Poorman is such a relief. Apparently at this point, Drew was also “taking a break” after the semi-fued they had on air in previous episodes. I don’t know the history of their on-air spats and the resulting “vacations” however, as that has never really come up on any podcasts. Maybe there are legal reasons Drew won’t talk about it?
One may also find it interesting that nobody knows who Quentin is. At this point, he was fresh off of Reservoir Dogs, but we must realize that it was little more than a cult hit at that point – and there was no internet for things like that to spread to the masses. As far as most people knew, he was simply a cooky guy from Knoxville that had only previously been a bit part actor, yet had gotten to direct a low budget, somewhat unknown indie movie. The host acidentally calls him “John” numerous times. He reels it in throughout most of the show, but shows his wacky Quentin colors toward the end.
As far as callers go, I find it interesting how different things are handled at this point versus later shows with Drew/Adam, hense the 16 year old girl who sounds like she was 4. Nothing was even mentioned about that, and everyone just plows forward with advice.
Oh by the way, the fill-in doctor sounds like a cross between Ben Stein, and the *other* unusually tall Italian comedian that talks through his nose – Ray Romano. Every time he spoke, I would see either of those guys (or both) in my mind’s eye.
