A girl named Marie has a creepy "snowball" story to tell, wants Poorman to talk to the guy.
Poorman decides to talk about "jobbies" due to Drew's absence but Paul has no idea what he's talking about.
13 year-old caller Juan is downstairs and waiting for someone to let him in so he can do a story on Loveline for the Mid-Valley News.
Poorman states they were trying to get a Loveline TV deal back then. Paul says they have similar TV shows in the UK.
"Into Tomorrow" is played off the CD then Paul does a solo acoustic performance of "Wild Wood."
A Paul fan named Kathy compliments his music then says Loveline is crass and how it's so horrible. Turns out she is 21 with a 16 year old boyfriend. She then apologizes to Paul for the un-important problems. She then goes on to ask why Paul is even there and calls Poorman disgusting before requesting a song and sort of apologizing. She then claims she is downstairs, possible the fan that key'd Poorman's Mustang.
Paul says he wants to wants to play one more song and the "piss off." He plays "Red Balloon," and breaks a string at the end. Nobody knows who the guitar belongs to though.
A small bit gets cut out and Paul says he is leaving to drink at a pub instead of staying for the rest of the show. That means Poorman is hosts the show by himself for the remainder of the night.
Poorman turns and starts to talk badly about Paul. A caller says last week the band Soho walked out as well.
Caller Daphne gets Poorman confused when he asks if her name is "Daffy." She says Poorman is making an idiot out of himself for the way he treated Mr. Weller. They continue to argue and gives kudos to caller Kathy. You can hear Daffy's brother yelling at her in the background. She finishes the call by bashing Poorman a bit more, which causes him to say he won't apologize to him.
Rodney Bingenheimer also helping out in studio.

Another one of those Poorman episodes where the main source of entertainment is watching the car crash slowly unfold. You can tell the guests are a little uncomfortable, and didn’t really know what they were getting into. It doesn’t help that Poorman is taking advantage of Drew’s absence by taking the show into the gutter right out of the gate.
The drama, though, is mainly fueled by irate Paul Weller fans who call in and voice their dissatisfaction. It’s a good demonstration of how Drew balances out the show, as things probably would have gone a little differently if he had been there.
Correct date should be July 19.
Where do you get this info?
It is mentioned in the show that Paul was playing a week from the following Wednesday which was the 29th of July. The Wednesday after this show would have been the 22nd, and the one after that would have been the 29th. Poorman also mentioned that he goes to a particular club on Sundays and he would be there later on this evening.
Hope this helps.
Date Corrected. Nice Detective Work!
A few callers were pretty upset with how Poorman handled this evening being that Drew wasn’t there. That being said, many of the callers were upset that no one was asking questions to the guest. In the defense of Poorman, Paul wasn’t really participating in the show at all. Seems to be a weird thing with a lot of the British guests. Chumba wumba are frequent guests that Adam mention thatey didn’t like. There was also the Darkness as well as the Coogs when Stryker was hosting in 2007. Check that one out on lovelineshow.com and you’ll see that they really didn’t get along with Drew’s opinion, which is fine, but it appears it’s the way that they go about their position which really gets to Drew.
