Put it this way, at one point she says…
“Oh yeah, and i just thought of something else I’m against”.
You go Patty. Save that world.
Patricia Arquette is pretty but oh boy is she dumb.
I’m sometimes shocked at how different a guest comes across to me from actually listening to the show in comparison with what I expected based on reading the comments. I thought Patricia was a lovely guest and I thought she had a great rapport with Adam. For instance knuckld mentions her saying “Oh yeah, and i just thought of something else I’m against”. That was after Adam had been playfully teasing her earlier for taking a stand against things like land mines, Aids etc.
I stand behind the “thought of something else I’m against” bit, but you have a point. I made that comment as I listened, and I should clarify.
Without getting into why her land mine crusade is infantile and ignorant of reality…as she loosened up and became ‘Patty’, instead of ‘Patricia Arquette Movie Star Activist Chick”, she was indeed delightful. She should let that girl out more often, or at least sooner.
Actually thought about ammending the comment at the time, but now that you’ve called me on it, J-Stab, have to do it.
Last half of this show is where the interesting callers come in.
She’s not necessarily wrong on the issues but Patricia Arquette comes off as a half-witted “bleeding-heart liberal”….Adam kids w/ her quite a bit.
Patricia’s a good guest. Sure, she comes on the show to talk about landmines and discrimination, and seems like she’s going to be a wet blanket. Then Adam starts to make fun of her crusading and right away she loosens up and stops taking herself so seriously. Delightful is the right word for her.
Guest is kind of preachy. I like that she’s for a good cause, but sort of annoying. Also spouts off a bunch of statistics that sound like total BS.
Sound quality is negative 1000
First off, the sound quality is not that bad. This episode is totally listenable. And I thought Patricia Arquette came off pretty articulate and fun. I’m not sure what’s wrong with being against landmines. It’s still a major issue in a lot of the countries they mentioned. And what’s wrong with being for something? She was about as innocuous about it as a person can be.
She seems like the kind of guest that I would hate but turned out to be pretty charming.
Charming but definitely a bit looney.
