Show Summary:

From the band The Vandals

Josh and Joe from The Vandals are there to promote the new album, "Look What I Almost Stepped In...". The show begins with several minutes of discussion about Josh's weird dad who played tuba for Hee Haw and currently throws covers of The Vandals into his live tuba shows. Joe mentions the weird paint job on his dad's house and how his dad's neighborhood has been trying to get rid of him for years. Adam is fascinated, commenting that his and Drew's dads are boring and therefore entirely unsatisfying, and Drew jokes that his own kids don't have it much better.

Caller Lisa (18) asks about the term "popping your cherry" and what it means. Drew explains the hymen, what it looks like, and how it often breaks long before loss of virginity. Joe mentions that he married a virgin; Adam and Drew are fascinated and discuss the advantages and implications of waiting until marriage ("it's the biggest penis she's ever seen!").

Caller Ed (14) made up a question so he could ask to come in and watch them at the studio. Adam and Drew yank his chain a little, then recognize him as a previous caller and brother of someone they met on one of their tours.

Adam then goes on a jag about how he called the person who sent him and Drew two giant baskets of treats, and how the Mexican guys he was working on a house with loved the baskets.

Caller Matt (16), apparently nicknamed "The Israeli Commando" by Adam when he called in previously, asks Adam about boxing gloves, then asks how he should handle the awkwardness after a one-time tryst with a coworker from the homeless advocacy group, since he likes her and wants to continue a relationship. Adam talks about goofy bar mitzvah photos.

Caller Tobi (22) is concerned that her face turns purple whenever she drinks alcohol. Drew talks to her about it momentarily before Adam interrupts and decides that he would make a good Asian. He wants to go through all the stereotypes of every ethnicity to find out which one he would be best at. Joe mentions Spanish bullfighting, and he explains some of it and his experiences doing it to Adam, who is curious. Tobi never gets a definitive answer,.

Caller Beth has an answer for Adam's question from a few nights ago regarding why dogs have no problem sniffing each others' butts if they have a sense of smell 1000 times that of our own. Adam thought that perhaps 1000x any smell is pizza, but Beth explains that it has something to do with chemicals in the dogs' brains that make gross smells pleasing and good smells terrible.

Caller John (17) asks about the long term effects of inhalants, specifically nitrous from whipped cream cans and compressed air for cleaning computers. Adam compares it to Muhammed Ali's rope-a-dope strategy. Josh tells a story about a confetti cannon operator at a parade that covered Ali in confetti. This transitions to a discussion about the lack of understanding of brain injury and disfunction in this country.

They play "Behind the Music" from the new album.

Caller Debbie (41), having just started listening, calls in to take issue with Adam's comments the previous night about Mormons and masturbation. Her husband, Chris, a longtime Loveline listener, occasionally shouts "VANDALS ROCK" from the background.

Caller Ryan (18) asks about a friend he has repeatedly walked in on engaging in intercourse with a schnauzer. Adam claims bogus and mocks Ryan and his call. Adam then asks Drew where schnauzers originate, but Drew deflects and goes back to the call to tell Ryan to get his friend (and the dog) some professional help. They continue to fight for control of the call until break.

Coming back, Adam sings along to the Disturbed bumper, then finds out they would be in soon. They discuss the album art and artist.

Caller Greg (20) wants to know why they didn't play a certain song "Susanville" while they were in Houston, and the band discuss "deep cuts." Then Greg asks Josh about "that Christina bit" at the end of his solo album.

Caller Brian (13) asks about white dots on his uncircumcized penis. Drew's answer as always: "pearly penile papules, leave them alone."

Adam uses this as an opportunity to discuss a hard, whitehead-looking bump on his nutsack, and his continuing adventures in trying to remove it, as well as a similar phenomenon in his eye. He wants Drew's advice in removing them, but Drew seems reluctant.

Caller Lily (21) asks for advice on having fulfilling relationships after her (now-ex)boyfriend's friend raped her, since the ex wouldn't believe her and instead though she cheated on him since the friend claimed it was mutual. Since that trauma when she was 18, she's had problems with intimacy.

Caller Corina (14) wants to know the side effects of extacy. She currently has a headache after having taken it at school yesterday.

Caller John (31) is so enthusiastic about being on that he swears on air, and Josh relates a story about how when he was introduced on a show one time, he was so nervous that he just dropped the F-bomb. John is concerned that his sack is always tight.

Adam wants Drew to look at his sack during the break, then gets uncomforable because Drew so nonchalantly agrees. Coming back from the break, Drew reveals that while he was trying to urinate, Adam whipped out his sack and began thrusting it toward Drew, wanting the exam immediately. Drew says Adam's white bump is either a cyst or a glandular growth, and needs to be cut out. Adam wants to do it himself with an X-acto knife that's been dipped in alcohol.

After trying to figure out where Josh went, they discuss politics and the results of the election, then ponder why a senator's wife decided to step in for him in the election after he died in a plane crash a few weeks prior, and how she can get away with it. Josh returns just in time for them to play "Jackass" off the new album.

Caller Angel (25) doesn't get out more than a "Hello? Hi. Um ..." before Drew wants to gamble. Adam declines, not getting a gamble vibe. She thinks she masturbates too much and asks if it's related to a disorder. Drew still wants to gamble, and Adam finally allows it.

After the break, they play a segment of "Playboy Mansion" off Josh's solo album "The Notorious One Man Orgy" (originally to be called "Clown Penis Dot Fart"). It has to be cut short because they have no way to censor the part with profanity. Josh talks about how his dad always told him to never get a tattoo, then later found out (when his dad dropped his pants in front of Josh and his then-girlfriend at Thanksgiving) that his dad got a tattoo of Mickey Mouse playing a tuba on his butt at 52 because of a mid-life crisis.

  2. Lateralus

The vandals are super cool. I’ve always known freese but it turns out joe is a bull fighter and has killed a couple bulls. Mega interesting. An early dude you beat off? Also it must’ve been difficult for josh freese to balance the vandals, a perfect circle, and his solo work. All slightly different in their sound btw. I liked these guys though idk how you don’t
