Adam gets drew flustered when he confronts him about his crush on Fiona Apple while the guest is in the room.
This episode is great because Fiona is so neurotic and argumentative with Adam. There are uncomfortable yet hilarious moments. Worth a listen for sure.
Wow, this is a really great episode. It sounds like this takes place a few months after Fiona’s notorious speech at the awards show. She is a bit crazy, and seems to make Adam a little crazy in such a good, funny way. This is a new favorite episode for me.
At the start of the show Fiona’s “card tick/sleight of hand” magician boyfriend is discussed, i believe this is referring to David Blaine…

Fiona is super annoying.
Can’t understand why people like Fiona Apple as a guest. She comes off like a snotty teenager. She argues constantly throughout the episode, and she isn’t even arguing ABOUT anything, she’s just being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. If only Fletcher had been there to vomit on her.

Lost respect for Fiona Apple when she reveals that she is dating David Blaine….ugh
If you listen to enough shows you learn to like the guests who are engaged with being there instead of turtling up, guffawing every time someone says “penis,” or constantly trying to steer the conversation back to whatever movie or album they’re promoting. Even if Fiona isn’t making sense all the time she’s at least contributing. Shows with guests who give a shit are almost as good as no-guest shows.
Fiona’s very immature. Quite a bit of vindictiveness and passive aggression there.
I liked this episode, FA is a fun bratty hot chick with more than half a brain and who does not take herself too seriously. That’s more than you can say about most people 🙂
