This episode has a lot of clueless callers. Some of my favorite quotes were:
“I’m a straight A student, but I sometimes get B’s and D’s.”
“I don’t drink or do drugs.” This caller had just told Adam and Drew that she smoked speed.
Caller: “My boyfriend is addicted to porn.”
Drew: “Is he addicted to anything else?”
Caller: “No, just porn and drugs.”
very funny and strange call from danielle 36yo who has a schizo husband. the husband started living alone on a $1,000 wooden houseboat that captivate adam and drew for most of the call. 1:03:00
Drew’s insistence that the morning after pill will end abortion is annoying. It’s like saying we don’t need treatments for STDs because condoms are available.
blueskylark, you’re right, but I think Drew was just speaking in hyperbole there. He just said “the morning after pill would be one of the greatest ways to eliminate abortion in this country.” He meant that as a counter to those who try to make the pill illegal because they think it’s the same thing as an abortion, which is just patently false. If they understood the mechanics of the morning after pill, they would actually be for it since it could have the potential to drastically decrease the number of abortions. I don’t think Drew actually thinks it would “end abortions” all together.
