Steve is the lead singer from “Smash Mouth”. Anderson f’d with him in later shows by playing a clip of their cover of the Monkee’s “I’m a Believer” which Steve was clearly embarrassed by and begs him to stop playing it. Embarrassed or not – since that was used in Shrek, I am sure he made bank on it. Sometimes you need to shimmy for the man….
Steve is a usually a pretty good guest – I think he was pretty hammered in this episode, very slurry, not tracking that well, swears several times and tries to take over the show like 30 mins in. Ironically he shouts from the mountaintops about how he thinks weed is horrible for you, also tells a story about how he got caught in his schoolyard as a lad almost choking on a joint – how does one manage this? A guy calls saying he tore his foreskin by overusing a penis pump, a girl calls to complain that they are often wasting time making bets on people (hahahahha) and Adam misheard her and thought she said “butts”, show cuts out in minute 46, cuts back in but last 20ish minutes appear to be from another show.
As an FYI, the last 20ish minutes mentioned by inFRUITthe seems to be from the beginning of the 09/17/1998 episode.
Dear god, the guest was extremely obnoxious! Cutting in while Adam and Drew were talking to the callers almost EVERY time. Horrible show.
Solid gambling starting around the 22 min. mark, Adam and Drew nail it and Steve is dumbfounded. That’s the highlight of this episode to me,
Steve sounds like Anderson after he put down a few beers. haha.
One of the very few shows which is un-listenable because of how obnoxious the guest is.

Again I always read the comments and expect to agree with everyone but I thought he was pretty fun, maybe just me tho idk
For me, this guest is comparable to a slightly less obnoxious DAG
Steve is fine there are far more boring guests and those those are the ones that bug me. I’d rather have an animated drunk than a vapid mute.
Chastity made me wanna strangle her though. I hate callers that don’t understand the program is primarily entertainment and as such needs to be entertaining.

Steve is like a generic DAG… Almost unlistenable at times.
Really a bad combination of serious calls and a guest with out of control bad humor and timing
There is a line between enthusiastic guest and overbearing and Steve crossed it.

RIP drunk bastard. You can tell he was already going downhill with this appearance. Not the worst guest just talks too much.
