Darrell Hammond is a pretty good guest. He does a lot of Jesse Jackson impressions – especially funny when he does medical terms such as “pellllvic inflahmatory dee-sease”. He also goes into his alcoholism and getting put in the clink in the Bahamas. Sounded super sketch.

I think the most interesting part about this show is comparing his Bahamas jail experience to the experience in later shows. He seems to be changing the truth here to make himself look less to blame for his alcoholism. He seems to be more honest when asked about it in later shows.

yeah he did seem really sketchy and shaky in his appearances. As drew and adam would say, it was something in his voice…i was on his wikipedia page when I was listening and read this:

“During an October 2011 interview with CNN, Hammond revealed that his mother had brutally abused him during his childhood. This trauma from abuse led to cutting, several hospitalizations due to psychiatric issues, and diagnoses which include bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Hammond says that he was medicated throughout his tenure on Saturday Night Live, and that he cut himself backstage and was once taken from the studio to a psychiatric ward”

Shockinggggg, I’m sure drew picked up on that a couple of minutes into meeting darrell

Hammond is on the show three times and they’re all worth a listen. He gets along great with the guys, participates, does great impressions, and has one of the all time best stories ever told. The contrast between the absolute madness of the story and the very casual way he tells it makes it that much better.
