Adam has one of his infamous “Drew survey” freakouts around minute 24. The guests are all uncomfortable. I think Annabella records the very first guest “Germany or Flor-i-daaaaaaa” drop which I believe is later attributed to Tory Amos.
Oh – also Adrian Young from No Doubt confirms that Adam was a total dick when he made some Indian racial slur that infamously leads to the band refusing to come back on the show/Adam putting his “curse” on their success. He seems to remember it vividly – I wonder if that show is in the archives.

There is 1 more missing show where I believe the band comes in sans Gwen with a letter she wrote saying how she refused to be on the show again. I’ve only heard about this, we don’t have a recording though…
God, that was the funniest argument with Drew ever around 20 minutes.

That was an epic freak out by Adam. You can actually hear Adam standing away from the mic because he knows he is yelling so loud at Drew.
It gave me a monumental boner when Drew yelled back at Adam. Usually he just takes the abuse and moves on. Adam was right but empowered Dr. Drew makes me happy.
This is one of the bigger fights they ever had, and probably the biggest up to this point. Adam’s crankiness is really starting to come out by this point.

Luckily Adam recovers from his epic yelling at Drew and doesn’t seem too cranky the rest of the show (I kind of wonder if he was milking it a bit for the radio).
He does his “we’re not done with Germany” bit for the band.
The next call, Adam correctly guesses the caller worked as a stripper.
The call after that, Drew and Adam have a hilarious piece of advice (given on previous shows, too) that you tell the kid the absentee father was a war hero.
“What do I do when the father comes around for the holidays?”
“Start screaming and fall to your knees and cry ‘oh my god, you’re back!'” …the band cracks up.
