Anderson was apparently a good friend to the guy as well.

A guy calls in near the end of the show with a theory about terrorism. He points out that it’s always “towel heads” driving cabs and manning convenient stores. His theory is that Osama Bin Laden pays for the towel heads to come to this country and drive cabs and puts Anthrax in their turbans…..this is the point where he loses the guys and they cut him off. Adam adds that it can’t be terrorists manning the 76 stations because if they were they’d be nicer. Being dicks to every customer is the quickest way to blow your cover.
And wait, Unclepenny, did Peter really die of auto erotic asphyxiation? How did you find that out? That would make for a really awkward funeral.
@Landlubber: Yup, he did. On later show(s), on the rare occasions that AEA came up, A&D would mention that they had a friend who died that way, and you could tell they weren’t just goofing.

I’ve mentioned this before on here, but the supreme irony of the “No, not alright!” call is that the caller is an Eastern European (Romanian, if I remember correctly) WHITE SUPREMACIST who calls decrying multiculturalism and miscegenation. Yet in typical Loveline fashion the guys completely forget about the drop’s origin and for all the subsequent years Adam was on the show, it’s propped up as an example of how brusque and rude Middle-Eastern gas station employees are.
Yikes, that rant is disturbingly xenophobic. Probably an early warning sign of the insufferable blowhard that Adam (somewhat ironically) would later become.
