Blasphemy! This show is the origin of Adam’s “#1 receiver of oral sex” routine. Skip the Bob Crane parts, but by no means the whole show.
This isn’t great. The regular loveline stuff is good as usual but the first couple of segments are filled up with boring shit about Hogan’s heroes.
I grew up watching Hogan’s Heros re-runs so I found this show interesting. There are a lot of details about Bob’s family life, swinging lifestyle and his ultra-expensive, state of the art circa 1965 reel-to-reel video equipment that he used to capture his conquests – part of which was also used during his murder. They also talk about where those tapes ended up after the murder and the fact that the murder was never solved, allegedly due to the investigation being bungled by the Scottsdale, Arizona PD.
Really enjoyed the discussion of Bob Crane and the mystery of his murder. Was a big change of pace and actually really cool; only other show I remember being this focused on the guest or aspects of their life was the John Hiatt episode.
Good Guests, not a lot of calls but good overall episode. Wow 3 qtrs of the way through the show a ln idiot calls to shot on Anderson and Adam shuts him down and compliments Andy… a rare and touching moment.
Adam is a good interviewer when he wants to be… not a conventional show but pretty interesting.
Robert thinks that maybe “Andrew” at about 00:42:30 is Scotty plugging his website but it doesn’t really sound like him.
