This is a very “2001” show: overall nutty callers, a great white trash caller and one frightening, legitimately crazy guy who lives next to a magical hooker.
Mix Master Mike runs late because of flight issues. He doesn’t contribute too much when he does get in. Still a really great episode.
Right about 25 minutes in, Mix Master Mike says their next album comes out September 11th. Weird.
Melissa, F, 32 needs Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I’m bipolar and for years I went through so many shitty psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, blabber, blabber, blabber… But DBT work with my current therapist as well as a group helped me to stabilize, and begin me on the path to healing… This sounds like a bad advert (big dividends + hi self esteem! = $$$today!!! Call (555)555-5555…) but I just wanted to put that vague comment out there. It’s basic coping skills. Similar to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Anyhoo. I hope she found some relief. I could hear the pain in her voice, the pain I’ve had, that I’ve heard in others… Radical Acceptance!! Huzzah!!
Yeah I was in a DBT group, smart recovery (an alternative to AA) is based on a similar model.
