Show Summary:

CLL #1122 (feat. Stroke 9)
01/17/2000 – Monday Night Show
Source – Lost Tape VHS (2018)
A brand new source for an existing episode, first recovered a decade ago. Now 100% complete with a huge audio upgrade. Lots of solid calls, a drop origin and overall a good episode. Stroke 9 are making their first of two appearances on CLL.

John and Greg from Stroke 9 are in the studio for the first part of the show. They discuss the origin of the band, a "rock band class" at their high school, which was apparently similar to Adam's own hippie school from when he was a kid. Discussion eventually turns to "stonertariums" where people go to watch Pink FLoyd light shows while high. Adam wants to make sure listeners know what band this is, so they play "Little Black Backpack" off their last album, Nasty Little Thoughts.

Rick (26) recently broke up with his girlfriend of 8 months, and was concerned that he was wrong to do so. His now-ex had dated her boss before she started working for him, and had maintained a weird relationship with him once they worked together filled with resentment and tension. Being uncomfortable, he ended it, but wonders if he's overreacting. Adam calls him an "egotard."

Trent (16) is immediately accused of smoking a ton of weed, and it turns out he got kicked out of school a year ago for possession. He's getting counseling currently and no longer smokes pot; he's not, however, in recovery, so Drew suggests he gets into it. Finally getting around to his question, they find out that he wants to quit masturbating because he feels bad about it afterward. Drew reveals it to be not a moral problem, but rather an esteem problem.

Stroke 9 announces that they encourage masturbation, prompting Drew to ask if the band name is related. Ironically, the name was actually from a T.S. Elliot poem, but later on took the masturbation reputation. Adam comes up with his own version of Name That Tune that involves the number of strokes to Shoot That Wad, then realizes that he doesn't know how many it takes him and vows to count tonight.

Miranda (unknown age) is having cold-like stuffiness that started after she "charmed" (read: blew) a motocross celebrity several days ago, unbeknownst to her boyfriend. She claims to have once given a 3-hour BJ, and offers to help Adam count with her mouth. She describes her cold-like symptoms that showed up the next day, and Drew tells her that it's a cold that's been going around recently and she probably got it from someone at the party. Adam calls Miranda nutty, then Drew mentions bulemia and Miranda reveals that she has it. Adam sarcastically calls it a lucky guess and accuses Miranda's mom of being nuts as well.

Mustafa (no age given) has his name made fun of for a few moments ("part-moustache, part Mafia") before he can get to his question. He masturbated 20 times in one day, which impresses the entire studio, and later noticed that he had blood in his boxers. Drew tells him that that much strain is bound to break a blood vessel. Mustafa immediately asks that if his uncle's story about masturbating too much when he was younger leading to a loss of "mojo" could be true.

Adam and Drew muse about the sexual compulsion so far for a bit. Adam wonders about the rampant availability of porn nowadays, and declares he was a pioneer in masturbation in his own time.

Jay (17) wants to know what his pre-ejaculate is. Drew tells him that it's got a high concentration of sperm, and Jay is worried. Adam rants about the idea of not having sex till marriage, but then getting married really early to get around your own rule.

After the break, Adam mentions that David Arquette will be in soon, and recounts his unplanned appearance during the show with the cast of Being John Malkovich.

Terry (41) is angry because his daughter purchased a pop at a fast food restaurant and there was blood in it. She had tests done at the doctor's office, and Drew assures Terry that there's not really any risk of HIV/AIDS from an exposure that small, and Hepatitus C is unlikely, although Hep B is possible, but they probably tested for it.

After the break, Luke and Eric come into the studio to replace John and Greg.

Donna (unknown age) has to engage in bondage to have sex, but wants her boyfriend to break free and punish her instead of just punishing him. Drew traces it back to a drunk, abusive father. She refuses to accept it, and after a few minutes Adam gets fed up and tells her to go to hell.

Adam rants for a minute about idiots who call in for advice but then refuse it even after Adam and Drew magically figure out their past.

Isabella (19) works with a guy and his girlfriend, who is apparently the father of the guy's children. The guy told Isabella at work that he wants to have sex with her. Drew sarcastically tells her that it must mean he's in love with Isabella. She isn't sure whether she should let the girlfriend know about this.

Kelly (15) thinks Drew is "really, really hot." Her friend is 3 months pregnant, but Kelly doesn't think she can afford the baby. Drew suggests adoption, but Kelly is unsatisfied. Drew rules out abortion, citing the legs and arms involved in second trimesters. Adam wants Kelly's hymen still intact in five years, and asks Kelly to sell her friend on adoption.

Courtney (18) has gotten both chlamydia and herpes from her boyfriend. Drew thinks he's "quite a guy" and mentions that having 2 STDs massively increases the liklihood of having AIDs. Courtney reveals that her boyfriend is a diesel mechanic, and Adam says that he's so white trash that his baseball cap has a bill that's been rounded to a semi-circle. Courtney reluctantly admits that this is correct and Adam explains intelligence being expressed through hats.

Adam and Drew go on to yell at her about not getting pregnant, and when she tells them that she moved to a different state for him after knowing this guy for 3 weeks, they decide to gamble. Adam guesses that she was fat in high school. Eric goes with alcoholic dad. Luke guesses that she was dropped on her head and because she doesn't remember it, will deny any family problems. Drew goes with wealthy, over-intrusive, large family. Adam makes Luke change his guess, so Luke goes with molestation by step-dad. Eric wins by default, since he was closest.

After the break, they play "Letters" off the band's most recent album. Adam compliments the band, and Drew assures them that if it wasn't true, Adam wouldn't be saying it. Case in point: Chumbawamba, about whom Adam proceeds to rant.

Ann (28) calls in to yell at Adam. She's mad about the call with Rick, appalled that they could be so stupid as to not realize that Rick's ex had been sleeping with the boss the whole time, considering that she slept with him to get the job. Adam and Drew try to correct her on that part of her argument, but Ann won't have any of it and continues ranting and raving. They put her on hold and Drew wonders aloud what the chances are that she's got a little history along those lines. When they bring her back, she calls Adam gay and keeps trying to yell at him. Ann gets inreasingly agitated and combative, then defensive when they try to get into her past, which seems to get to her, and she begins to repeat every question to avoid answering anything once they find out Drew's right.

Adam explains why he refuses to listen to the callers of his show or any show when they have complaints with advice, because it always turns out that they've had the experience and now want to twist it around for themselves when they see someone else going through their own experience.

Andrea (unknown age) wants to know how the band got started, apparently not having listened to the beginning of the show.

Ryan (17) hooked up with a girl at church who, as it turns out, is 12. He claims not to have known this until they were in the middle of "macking." She lives two cities away, and also SHE'S TWELVE, so they suggest he just knock it off. Then Adam observes that lots of people seem to hook up through churches, but nobody gets laid through their temple.

ann is one of the stupidest, twattiest callers ever. thinks she knows things she couldnt even know. a and d are way too nice to her. she needs a curb stomping.

  3. Giovanni

Caller Courtney is likely bogus, you can hear her stumbling and changing the goal posts mid call, she’s likely one of the serial female bogus callers. Unfortunately her call is now being used by a podcast to frame LoveLine as a tool of the patriarchy used to abuse women.
