Show Summary:

From The Tonight Show

Kevin is one of the all time worst guests, he is unresponsive(almost comatose) the majority of the show. He doesn't laugh at anything funny, he seems to have a hate on for Adam the whole show. Drew even comments "he has hated you since he walked in".

Kevin gives his theory on media and how it has an agenda, the most retarded and simultaneously least eloquent conspiracy theory i have ever heard.

Drew keeps trying to bail Kevin out but he keeps sounding more and more like a stereotype(very ironic).

A female caller calls in to discuss the Clinton/Lewinski scandal and how to discuss it with her son. Drew jumps to her defense even though she is super affected and wont shut her mouth, seriously she sounds as if she is high and drunk and Adam calls her on it and a misguided/oblivious Drew tells Adam to shut up.

Adam gives a new theme song for the WB, just listen it's hilarious(even though you can almost hear crickets chirping in the studio). Adam is on fire, and Kevin just pisses on him the whole show.

Adam recounts his early 80s run ins with Jay Leno, When Adam was working across the street from Jay's house.

"Quit chanting so loud I'm trying to sleep"

I’d heard about this episode before, and had to hear for myself.

    I can agree he wasn’t a good fun-time LL guest, but….

I won’t win any sympathy, but I thought Kevin Eubanks had some really great points.
I’ve essentially heard Adam complain about the same “trends” in society, although Adam
    blames “lawyers.”

Kevin just flat out says it’s creepy old white male perverts pulling the strings of society.
(Look up Edward Bernays for some tasty quotes and richly evil social engineering ideas!).

I came away from this episode with a lot of respect for Kevin.
I always thought he was just a smiley, grinning mope on the Leno show.
He’s actually a pretty serious musician dude.

But for a fun, hilarious LL episode, listen to any one but this one!

No, you’re right. After hearing the talk about this episode, I expected craziness from the guy. In fact he made plenty of valid points. Adam’s simplistic explanations didn’t completely address the issue.

As the Tonight Show bandleader Kevin Eubanks doesn’t get a lot of time for social commentary in front of a mic. Stereotypes exist because there is always some modicum of truth behind them. Hollywood isn’t in the business of perpetuating stereotypes especially with all of the uber-liberal jerkoffs in charge over there. Hollywood doesn’t like taking risks when money is involved. If you see a trend in casting or writing it’s because a successful formula has been worked out and nobody will stray from that formula until it stops making money.

After listening to this weird show it amazes me that Adam has made as many Tonight Show appearances as he has.

Kevin was awful. No wonder he spent his years on the Tonight Show just giggling and shaking his head – that move was adding 100 points to his IQ. He tried the same here, but that could never work on Loveline, so his presence was just painful. Adam still made it a good show, but I kept wanting him to kick Kevin’s ass right out of the studio, so I could just listen to the two masters work unhindered.

  5. Monkeyo

At around 1hr 5minutes in Kevin tries to make a point about how some white conspiracy/bad guys run hollywood movies. Adam counter-argues they do it for money and profit.

At the risk of introducing politics to this website, which would suck if that ever happened…I’m afraid I seem to have missed all the ‘valid points’. Seems like a run-of-the-mill crackpot to me, except that he’s a bit surlier than most.

  7. kevvy

i think Kevin had some decent points, BUT it seems like he doesn’t like Adam from the top. He’s one of the those guys who can never give a satisfying answer to any of Adam’s questions, and constantly disagrees with things he says, and then sort of re-iterates Adam’s points anyway.

  8. hattmat

I have to agree with Kevin being a horrible guest. He hardly says anything and won’t answer most of Adam’s questions, When he does have something to say, it’s some conspiracy theory that he can barely articulate

  9. redmegaman

Not nearly as bad of a show as I was expecting based on the comments. Sure, not the best guest but not the worst by a long shot, a bit deluded with his movie business conspiracy theories, but other than that pretty average.

  10. KD24

The way Kevin wouldn’t give a straight answer to any of Adam’s questions was annoying. He was also a little condescending. I didn’t like him as a guest.

  11. Jboord44

I thought Kevin Eubanks was a jovial, happy fun funny guy. Turns out he is not. He at least engaged at times here but he seems like a bitter, cynical, annoyed guy and a bit like a prissy bitch. Thoughts on him have changed after this.

  12. SanguineSymphony

The chick who thinks her relative is a pedo but has no proof sounds crazy and has sounded crazy every time. I have little doubt that her relatives don’t believe her because she’s the family nutter. Also having Kevin smuggly shoot Adam’s dumbass rant about prisons was nice. I’m only at about the 30 minute point but so far he’s fine. Better than.either Lennon or Goldberg.

  13. falb7

Yeah…. deliberately dancing around Adam’s questions and just being an ass. Sometimes Adam is to blame for the uncomfortable moments on the show but this is all on the guest.. Blur the only ones worse I can think of
