Good show as always, Drew is killing it on the keys or the 88’s as Adam says and the three of them (Drew on the keys, Adam on Sax and of course John on the harmonica) do a jam session towards the end. John Popper is always a good guest, gets involved in the calls and has a good sense of humour.

Too bad it gets cut off before you get to hear more of Knockin’ on heaven’s door. Good show all and all though.

  2. inFRUITthe

This is great – Drew is immensely talented on the ivories and John Popper’s tale of woe of why he is shy to play is classic, especially with Drew accompanying him with theme music. Fantastic!

  3. panaqua

I think it’s been pretty conclusively proven by Gio, among others, that Adam/Drew playing instruments was a bit. The instruments were played by others. I think the only real Drew playing piano stuff is from 2003/04 when Anderson recording him dicking around during breaks.

I was fooled for a minute, but Adam and Drew are most definitely NOT playing. Even if you get past how good they sound for amateurs, (1) I’ve heard Adam mention on a few occasions, from Loveline to the podcast, that he doesn’t play anything; (2) on other shows they referred to the “joke” element pretty clearly. “Hey Adam, WINK WINK, what instrument are you going to ‘play’ this time?”

But like I said, I was fooled too, so don’t feel bad.

  5. Lateralus

Lol it was totally fake.. In the first guitar one you can hear drew get jealous for gloating and Adam lets out a laugh. It’s still funny though. Johns speech about why drew quit playing at the end was hilarious though too… Man I should learn an instrument… Triangle?
