Show Summary:

Adam gets gizzards confused with gullets. Adam then announces that the guest is the love that the two hosts find between the two of them.

Adam said he watched Conan the other night and the guest mentioned Loveline being her favorite show. It sounds like her publicist won't let her come on the show.

Adam was having lunch with his girlfriend earlier in the day and had to discuss marriage with her. He compares marriage to being attacked by a grizzly bear.

Since there is no guest, they decide not to gamble on a caller.

Drew says his dad was listening to the show and commented on Adam calling him rich and cheap. Adam blames Drew for saying his dad would steal a kernel of corn off a bingo card and squirrel it away for the winter.

The Gunner Nelson intro is played. Adam talks about the Morrell twins and the clip of Adam making fun of Gunner being played. They felt bad because they were really nice guys.

A girl says she yelled out her brother's name when she was having sex. Adam says he never yells out anyone's name for fear of it being the wrong name.

During the 10 second time out, they forget to play the name of the station

Adam thanks fans for making unofficial Loveline webpages. He points out there is no other radio show or any kind of media the size of Loveline that doesn't have a webpage. He also says MTV hasn't put them in their site either.

Adam messes with Drew about the word prior getting confused with the last name Pryor.

Adam asks a caller what is in a blunt these days. He says back in the day people in the Valley used to use coke in blunts. Adam says Drew is a square and Drew suspects Adam of being an addict.

A 15 year old with the little girl voice says she was never abused. Drew immediately says it was probably an eating disorder and the caller says she used to be anorexic. Adam gives him 75 cents for figuring that out so quickly.

Adam talks about Slash and his crazy memory.

Adam gets fired up about people calling the cops for domestic violence and wasting their time and his money.

Adam talks about hemp shampoo. There's 70 other ingredients on the bottle before the hemp is mentioned.

A girl has 6 siblings with 5 different fathers. The youngest is 3 years old. Adam then gets pissed about not being allowed to put a slate roof on his house.

The recording ends just after the last segment.

This was a good episode.. More f’d up chicks than the average night… Random and don’t ask why I’d know this, but the word “charisma” has been used at least once in the last 3 or for episodes… Only i’d know this… ONLY I

@Moltar, you’re totally right. Dr. Drew is a big Pharma hack and a joke of a doctor who took money to pedal a product he didn’t believe in.

He was such a good tool for the man that he only ever brought up the drug in reference to a very specific and rather rare call, mentioned three other viable options FIRST and then made specific reference to peer-reviewed support of his claims about what the drug Wellbutrin could do in this specific circumstance.

Man he’s really beating that drum hard huh?

Let’s take a look at the body of work before calling someone’s character into question.

I’ve never heard Drew push bupropion for anything other than what any other doctor would deem a proper indication. He pushes it for an anti-depressant with fewer sexual side effects, which is true, and he pushes it for quitting smoking, which is also true.

In this episode, he recommends it for smoking cessation, I don’t see anything wrong with that. It’s the number one and only anti-depressant approved for smoking cessation and is used widely for it. It’s especially effective for former alcoholics, as I understand it, so I’m sure that’s why Drew ran into it a lot in his practice. He probably used it more often than the TCAs or SSRIs because every one of his patients was an addict or former addict.

Not every doctor is trying to bilk you out of money and cheat you, just relax.

Uh bupropion/Wellbutrin actually really helped me and it didn’t have the horrible side effects that SSRIs gave me. So yeah I don’t see the big deal with Drews support of that drug. He is only stating facts. You know, things that are true.

  5. Phantasm

Bupropion was also big for me. SSRIs and SNRIs had horrible sexual side effects for me and didn’t do much for my mood beside cecasion of suicidal ideation. Bupropion provided a mild mood enhancement without sexual side effects.

Given that the caller reported such side effects, Drew’s recommendation to ask his doctor about Bupropion is textbook. I don’t know your motives but you’re obviously biased agaist that drug or Drew. Remember that people are all mutants and pharmaceuticals work differently on everyone, so consider someone else may have a great response to a drug that was horrible for you.
