Adam fawns all over Jennifer Grey, (Ferris Bueller’s sister) even to the point of dressing up for her.
Also, an early rant about birthday pie.
Quality is below average, but listenable and a good episode
I thought it was pretty good. Jennifer Grey is sharp and witty, and obviously engaged with the show. She referred to minor details of previous callers and even her last visit. Fun listen.
The quality improves at the 25-minute mark, by the way.

Alright, finally moved all recordings to the 1996. I’m still not sold on the date. She talks about a previous appearance with Adam, assuming she must have been on the show between fall ’95 and earlier in ’96. Who knows if she ever was though. Another “clue” is when Adam says Duran Duran will be on “next week,” They were on the show on 1997-04-01. In 1996 they were on in March and September. 1997-03-27 would make sense out of all that. Anyone else have an idea on the date? This has been an ongoing debate for a while. I also find it a bit odd that two guys would have a 1996 tape from the same night when they only had one or two in their collection.
Looking at some old notes, caller Jen wishes Jennifer a happy birthday at 24:54 Her birthday is on March 26th. The proposed 1997 date was the 27th but this was broadcast on WHSF so there was a 1-day tape delay. I’m guessing the correct date would be 1997-03-26.
One of these days I’m gonna hit that place where they hide the books (library?) and look at some microfilm of old newspapers. I remember the TV listings in the Boston Globe in the ’90s had a section for upcoming guests on radio shows. If the L.A. Times had the same thing, that would pretty much be our Rosetta Stone.
That’d be sweet, like a master-list of guests. I’m sure someone whose name ryhmes with Fann Fingold might still have that book with all the old bookings somewhere.

This show is from 3-27-1997. It’s from the day after her birthday which Adam clearly states near the beginning. They mention her TV show The Player which aired in 1997, which takes clean out of 1996. There really shouldn’t be any debate after listening to the episode.

drew is so cool too. he is being such a wingman for adam by being able to be made fun of…but then halfway through the show adam starts being gross and talking abuot his nutsack and stops being so alpha…Jennifer is grossed out, Drew encourages Adam to move on (which would have been a great move) Then they laughed that Adam had done this before Hahahaha
