Riki has apparently told the band that he is leaving the show, and instructed them not to say anything. However Chad brings it up, to Riki’s great annoyance, five different times in thinly veiled ways, and in one case not veiled at all when he says, “Riki’s trying to be cute on his last day.”
I wonder if any astute listeners picked up on this, or if he broke any news at before everyone at the station knew about it.
Also interesting to hear him mention his wife’s hatred of Janine Lindemulder. It turns out she had good reason to, as Riki would soon be dating her.

We don’t have the recording for this show. It used to be available on Classic Loveline, but the podcast is gone now. The snippet you hear was the teaser for Classic Loveline.

Chad is one of the worst guests ever. He repeatedly curses and generally sounds angry he’s in studio. Dave’s OK but not nearly as good as he would be later. This is when he had 4 years sober but before his big relapse he would eventually discuss on the show.
